A little about me…
I am coming down the hill of midlife and looking more seriously at things I’ve never looked at before. I have followed Christ in the constant battle with my sinful nature for 49 years, and while I’ve made progress I have a long way to go.
I have been married for 38 yrs. with a great wife who is my partner in life and who has helped me know and experience the secure unconditional love of God. I have two great kids, both now married to spouses which help them in their walk with God. I must say that that is a blessing that truly gives me peace. These two kids have blessed me with 5 beautiful and life-changing grandkids (I couldn’t imagine the effect they would have on me.)
My ministry has spanned several states in several roles and a stint as a bivocational minister.
I took me 18 years to earn a four year undergrad degree in Bible (I am definitely not your traditional student.) Later in life I earned a masters in religious studies, a masters in clinical mental health counseling and a certificate in addiction studies. I am now a nationally certified counselor and serve as volunteer chaplain for the fire department. I’ve had the blessing of several mission trips to Scotland, India, Guyana and Peru, directed bible camp for young teens and more.
On another note, I am a breakfast guy–my favorite meal at anytime. My next favorite foods are a good steak, hamburger and more recently the healthy stuff of fruits and veggies. I’m fairly traditional about most things, enjoying a simple life and as I’ve gotten older a slower pace. I enjoy reading–predominantly non-fiction, hiking, running and working out, spending time chasing my grandkids and sipping morning coffee with my bride.
